The problem
A small gym runs its day across three things that never talk to each other: a notebook for bookings, a spreadsheet for memberships and WhatsApp for everything else. Nobody knows how many spots are left in the 7pm class or whose payment is up to date, and every question interrupts someone who is mid-class. The software that exists is built for large chains, priced in dollars, and assumes there is someone at a front desk all day.
What we did
- We modelled the whole business on a multi-organization database: classes, schedules, plans, credits, payments and roles. Each gym sees its own data and nothing else.
- We designed for the phone first. The person using it is standing on the gym floor with one hand busy.
- We built all three platforms from a single codebase: the web, the iPhone app and the Android app.
- We shipped to the App Store and Google Play — listings, screenshots, privacy forms and each store’s review.
- We added routines, load logging, statistics, notifications and an AI assistant that answers from the gym’s own data.
- And we operate it: deployments, backups, monitoring and support, every week.
The result
PhullApp is live, with gyms running on it and the same release serving the web and both stores. It is still in active development: it is our product, not a job that was delivered and closed — and it is why we know what it costs to keep a published app alive, not just to build one.
