Two cabins in Puerto Sánchez, Chile, and the road that leads to them
The website of two cabins on the shore of Lake General Carrera, with a map that takes guests from the airport to the door, stop by stop.
- 6 stops, from the airport to the door
- 3 forms of the map: computer, phone and paper
The problem
Puerto Sánchez sits at the end of a gravel road, hours from the airport, and the cabins stand behind another house. Guests got lost at the turn-off or on the last block, and along the way the phone signal does not always keep up.
What we did
- A map drawn from OpenStreetMap data that tells the trip in six stops, from Balmaceda airport or from Coyhaique to the last block.
- On a computer the scroll is the trip; on a phone, a step-by-step guide with a large map you pan and zoom with two fingers.
- The same route as a sheet to print or download as a PDF, for the stretches without signal.
- A page per cabin with its photos and a link to Airbnb, in light and dark, with our own JavaScript and no libraries.
The result
The site is live at telujpatagonia.com, on a domain in the cabins’ name.
